KidBlog

KidBlog Premium - K-8

Liberty Public Schools has purchased KidBlog premium for K-8 students as a publishing platform.

With KidBlog, you can:

  • Change privacy on each post
  • Have students change theme by post
  • Invite parents to view their student posts and comments - regardless of your blog privacy settings
  • Create multi-year digital portfolios
  • Organize students in multiple classes to create opportunities for cross-district collaboration
  • Integrate Google Drive
  • Have unlimited student accounts per class

Getting Started

  • Connect your account to Liberty. Disclaimer this document is LPS viewable only as it contains information for a paid account.
  • Start a new class for this year
  • Generate a code for adding students (adding students one-by-one is not recommended)
  • Students can invite their parents to view their blog – thus sharing their entire body of work from this point forward throughout the years as a portfolio.
  • Please share THESE helpful videos for staff getting started in the new environment

End of Year Options

At the end of each school year teachers will need to decide what they want to do with their current class. Here is a tutorial that will give you some different options.

TIPS AND TRICKS

Using Images:

  • If the author scrolls to the bottom of an image and places the cursor at the right edge (in the narrow white space) and double taps, the image is selected and "Cut|Copy|Paste" options appear.
  • If the image size presents itself as a factor, editing the size before inserting could help.
  • You can now edit images inside KidBlog!

Program Notes

  • iPad users will need to create a shortcut for the logon screen.
  • In order to allow Google sign-in, you will want to use https://kidblog.org/login as the shortcut. This link (not a direct class link) will allow the use of Google sign-in and will take the student to their Dashboard where they can select the class to enter.
